A couple 2025 nice onesAside from the really cool color, those are some very large Walleye. Congratulations!
I don't do much freshwater fishing, but I don't ever recall seeing the traditional golden colored Walleye getting that large. Am I mistaken?

The girth and weight can vary dramatically for fish of the same length in walleye.
My brother in law landed a 36" Blue Walleye in another lake nearby Kipawa, that we very carefully measured to make a Replica mount, and then released, we also had 2 different digital scales. One scale said 14lb 2 oz , the other scale said 14lb 1 oz.
This walleye was caught right after the spring spawn, and was very skinny with a giant head, and likely could weigh 5 or ,6 or 7 lbs more if it was caught in late fall or ice fishing.
The couple of walleye in the photos posted were 32" and 33" - still looking for that 36" in Kipawa
Big walleye are very fun to catch but not good to eat really -the meat tends to get a "mushyness" to it after they are over about 5 lbs - the smallest ones are the best eating - here in Kipawa there is a slot size for keepers 14.5"to 20.5"
The best tasting are the 15"ers
Kipawa is a great place for giant Walleye, with the bonus of great eating smaller fish, amazing Smallmouth fishing - hundreds in a day - and good Lake Trout fishing and Northern Pike

Yes a visit to Kipawa should be on everyone's list.
It is a magical place - because of the water here and the wilderness- Kipawa is a reservoir created back in 1911.
The area here is more water than land almost, created by Glaciers - a look on google earth and you can see why. Lake Kipawa has 1200 miles of shorelines and is composed of literally thousands of tiny bays and channels.
465 cottages and camps and the majority are in 3 small communities - Kipawa, Laniel and Red Pine Chutes - the vast majority of Kipawa is just empty wilderness shorelines - Bald Eagles , Moose, Wolves, other wildlife.
Many days out fishing and you never see another boat.
