Decided to go to to Green Island on Tuesday and catch the last couple of hours of the incoming tide.
Well did I have a lot of fun. Brought the light baitcaster and killed it!
Decided to bait up on a high low with gulp sand fleas/mole crab. Well the Sea Robins and Sea Bass loved those - Caught so many I can't even count them - but all short
Then I switched over to a Fluke dragger with 1oz and a pink 4 inch gulp grub...Well let me say JACKPOT! - I let is slowly drift back in the current and when it got to the edge A little chewing - slowly lifted the rod - I got some weight here - reel...reel...reel - It's a fluke - now the only question is - is it big enough....up and over the rail Off the hook and measure - YES! - 20 Inches - A KEEPER!
Caught another the same way on a white grub - but this one was shot - about 17 inches
Had a great day - and just on a note - I out fished all the guys there, using bait - I think it was letting it drift back and not pulling it in that did the trick
