If you want to get in on a great fluke bite now is the time. Perfect weather, perfect conditions. The fish are there hungry and biting. Full boat limit on the Star yesterday for all. Lots of big quality fish. I know this sounds like a plug for the boat but it isn't. Just putting it out there for people who think the season is mostly over or perhaps are contemplating going. Fish were biting from beginning to end. Even with no wind we had a steady drift with 6oz holding bottom for me. Some guys were scoping out most of the time. I had a lot of dropped fish, some felt real good. No sea bass biting off gulp tails, very few porgies bothering our baits. Had a few gulps come up clearly bit off by a blue fish. Probably caught 20-30 fluke with 6 keeper sized fish ORL.

I guess your drift conditions were less than ideal. The bite did seem to be a bit slower on Friday and Saturday from the reports I was reading. Hopefully they stick around for a while and allow us all another shot at them. This week's forecast for NE winds will keep me from going anytime soon.
