Thought I'd pass this little tip along to all you guys that have problems with the bait of soft plastics, or plastic baits like gulp, that keep slipping down the hook.
Get a bag of the little rubber bands, that your daughters use for their hair, usually a couple bucks for hundreds at the local drug store.
Then:
1) Slip it through the eye of the hook (I would do this at home, since it's not the easiest thing to do on a beach or on a rock)
2) Thread on your plastic bait of choices
3) Slide the tag end of the rubberband over the point of the hook and around the bend till it is against the bait
viola - now your bait won't slide down the hook and you won't have to spend time constantly adjusting it after every cast

Actually saw an interesting upcycle idea for this - If you add a metal blade and twist it into the back of the plastic, it will flash and attract the fishI posted this in 2022. Instead of tossing the tails, I just screw the spinner into the bit tail. I mainly use it in while using a light spinning rod in skinny water.
