Afternoon bite

My afternoon freed upon so grabbed my son and got down to the marina. Fueled up and off we went. Cloudy and a bit foggy in the ocean but never any real concern. Found the bunker and it was lights out for a short trip. 14 fish up to 45 inches by the Jr. A couple times the bridled bunker raced to the surface and we saw the bass smash the bait!! With super calm seas it was awesome. Bite slowed up and we easily cruised back to the dock. Great short trip.

I forgot to mention this yesterday. Although we were catching them on bunker, multiple striped bass pushed these out of their stomachs while we were getting the hooks out. Butterfish.

The Bass were feeding heavily on the same bait in the Gut about 10 days ago. Between Bunker and Butterfish, it's no wonder the Bass bite has been so hot.

BTW, my grandma used to love pan-fried Butterfish too!!😀
