Took my 13 whaler out for the first trip of the year. Water was suprisingly flat considering the east wind. Fished near the entrance to the bay. Wind was providing for a nice drift as I caught the end of the outgoing from about 12-3. Managed to hook 2 fluke, 1 shook the hook at the surface, looked to be about 18" landed another at about 17" Not much else to report. Saw a boat near me catch a small bass while trolling and saw a boat pull up what looked like a lot of small porgies. Had a few sporadic bunkers splash near me. Nice afternoon on the water and grateful the outboard started right up on the first turn of the key. Water temp inside was 59.5 and near the entrance of the bay 58.3 First fish came up somewhat lethargic and the other was a bit angry and feisty.

I loved my 13-foot whaler. I hung on to it for 20 years. I had a friend who fished a 15 whaler out of OB, and we would limit on fluke consistently. That was in the first week of May!

Congrats on a once day in the sound.
