Fished with my son today looking for some winning fish . Participated in a local tournament as I do each year. We managed a 22 inch fluke and a bunch of shorts. Bluefish to the high nines but did not break the ten pound mark. All on popping plugs so what a blast!! Just ate the fluke so that goes in another post lol.

Fishing a tournament with your son...doesn't get any better than that!!
Nice work, Kevin.

Let me guess, "Glass of Red"?? 😉

Didn't bother posting, but last night's 2024 Inaugural Stripah Suppah was a baked bass filet involving Pomegranate Molasses, so it actually did pair well with a nice, light-bodied glass of Cote du Rhone...

Regardless, a nice fresh, self-caught dinner is always a treat.

Always thought white was the recommended choice for fish? What do I know, fresh fluke with a cold beer is how I roll! Lol

Depends on the fish, more "meaty" fish like Swordfish are fine with lighter reds.

Regardless, nothing out-performs a brewski with fried fish!!
