Where to get a Boat Trailer Inspection in SW Nassau ?

From 1999 through 2020 I never got mine inspected. (Bring out the handcuffs and SWAT !) Only used TOBAY ramps and otherwise it was in my driveway. But the majority of our bay constables don't know the fishing regulations and just stop clammers and speeders.

At the Tobay ramp years ago and on a weekend, which was always great for laughs, I asked around and got one guy nervous (thinking he was in violation, lol) and another who just chuckled and shook his head. As we said in the artillery, better to ask for forgiveness than for permission... I really don't know of anyone who ever got their boat trailer inspected.

Use care and double check the work was done if you go to Trailer City in Hempstead. Long story short, after one experience I would rather take my trailers to their old Commack facility from Valley Stream than use Hempstead. And now their Commack office is closed. I used a guy in Medford who just gave it a quick visual and handed me a sticker, so after that I stopped using guys on the Island. If I trailer upstate I have a few favorites I'll do it up there (as well as use the DMV up there instead of dealing with the new AAA nonsense) but for now given how aggravating the process is on the Island, I too mostly roll the dice. Only time I get asked is out of state, like MA and CT on rare occasions.

My trailer has surge brakes and I want them checked, the previous place I had the trailer inspected just checked the lights. I have a Venture Trailer , they don't tell you much how to maintain it, check brakes etc. I don't know a thing about those brakes, it's good the trailer is only 2 seasons old.
