Fluke opener

Fished the opener today. Chased bass and blues up and down the bay. Could not get a bass on today. They just waked the plug, dorsal fin showing in some shallow water. Had blues chasing plugs but again, finicky. Landed one, lost a little neck popper. My fault. I went from a popping motion to a slow swim and this beast beast inhaled the whole plug! 40lb flouro had no chance.

As soon as the tide turned the east fan started blowing. Had wind against tide the entire morning. Boat had a wonky drift so I bumped the engine in/out to create a proper drift. One keep for a lot of work hitting 20 inch on the tape. My brother in law managed a 23 and a 21 in the same area doing the same thing on his boat. He also managed to get a commitment from a 29 inch bass which made it to the cooler.

And the Palmarius 0 was broken in. What a fine fishing rod it is!!

Good to be out, the fish were there, just hard to get them to hit.
