I have a yellow bucktail that was given to me, still in the plastic.
I was going to try using it for fluke, but never did. Not sure if Yellow is a fluke color.
Somewhere, maybe at Ward Melville, I think I heard that yellow looks white underwater. Any ideas on this? Anyone ever use yellow?

I've used it in shallow water situations up off Port Jeff and Mattituck. Worked as well as anything else.

If small weaks are about, that color can be quite desirable. Fluke, blues, cannibal weaks... The only keeper I got off the beach in 2022 took a bright yellow plug. when I powder paint and then bucktail dress my bucktails, I always paint one out of four or five in yellow (chartreuse). But I don't dye my deer tails anymore, just leave them naturally white.

I have used a white bucktail with yellow teasers and it worked well. I'm sure if there hungry it will work
What bait do the fluke eat that has yellow? Just to ask again, does yellow look white a few feet down?small weaks. I only buy Gulp! in white, pink and chartreuse and white is often a third choice, but that is because I dress my bucks that I put the Gulp! on in plain bucktail hair (white). I also Crazy Glue eyes on my leadheads in contrasting colors, red, green, etc., and run a thin red band with SWMBO's nail polish to simulate a gill opening. I have absolutely no idea whether any of this makes a bit of difference, but the sheer attractiveness of my creations makes my day 😉
Edited to add:
I have also stated in other threads that when I went to a light 6' Shimano Slimwave slow action and downsized to 3/4 ounce HT Lureco (thanks Lep) minnow leadheads I was able to constantly jig without arthritis pain and I think its the action imparted rather than going through the colors of the rainbow that works for me in backbay channel water from 10' to 30'. I avoid the onshore breeze by leaving for home late morning and use a DIY drift sock to slow the yak down if practicable.
