hook, sinker & line.. !!!

a few days ago fishing bait again, wishing for the regulars, bluefish / jacks, some kind of shark decided to inhale “ the hook, sinker and 50# braid “ in that order… saw the pull in rod tip for 2 seconds and then the release…

made for a easy retrieve… cellfish…

i’m using 50# mono cause when targeting small bluefish / jacks, because mutton & lane snappers shy from wire…

truly a mix of rigs needed here due to variety of species, “Mix & Match”… cellie…

It's funny, but that same thing happened to me when backwater fishing a few weeks ago. I caught 2 bluefish all day. Go figure.

hey OB, i’m just warming up….

on da sand @ 6:30, this morning, picked a LADY FISH , good fight , good jumper, horrible eating… gonna chunk her as bait, for toothed fish…

the other was “ HUNGRY JACK “ crevalle.. this 5lb fish, fights the same as 10lb Blue… fighters… wire not needed…
mistake having the drag too tight and the spike facing the wrong way… cracked the spike , wow…. J.C, poor table fare, gonna chunk Jack too…

btw, Jack C, had a 3 foot leader dragging from his mouth…

I see the silvery bait fish fare better than dark skinned finger mullet…

may not be able to fish next two days or so, high winds picked up now, heavy rains too… cellfish…

Hi Cellfish,
I lived in the Ft. Lauderdale area for 2 years in the early 70's finishing college and fishing when I could. My recollection of the winter months were comfortable temperatures, for the most part, but a lot of wind.

Still beats anything we have here in the Northeast for the next 4 months!
Catch em' up when the next window opens!!
