Well first day out. Very slow. We had 5 people on the charter. Total was 7 yellow fin snapper, 3 strawberry grouper and 1 Spanish mackerel. No pictures. Tomorrow we hope to target black fin tuna and other species on a different boat.

Slow or not, you are still in a far nicer place than NY at this time of year, Matt.

Second day much better!! Went out with Capt Jack on Match Point, nice seevee with twin 350s on the back. Started off cast netting for some bait fish, pilchaird. Then off to the tuna grounds. Anchored up and started chumming and throwing out live pilchard. Lots of break offs due to sharks. But if you can keep the tuna moving, you got em into the boat. I finally landed my first tuna, black fin. What a blast on spinning tackle! Of course some googans down there. 4 boats anchored up and chumming and you got some guy in a little mako, drifting between the chum and tuna jumping out of the water. Needless to say after a few choice words from the capt and the mako boat not catching anything he finally took off. After boating 3 tuna we pulled anchor and went in search of more bait fish to try and troll wahoo. We threw down the chum brick and put out two yellow fin snapper rigs with false albacore for bait
These fish are smart! Once they sensed thr line the whole school disappeared from behind the boat. So we decided to only use one line in the chum slick and sure enough the snapper came back. We hooked a bunch of them and of we were lucky to avoid the cuddas and sharks we boated them
Totally different fishing here having to compete with sharks and cuddasm but really cool to see them chasing the fish up to the surface. We started messing around with cero mackerel and they were also fun to catch. My friend boated a barracuda that the capt is going to use in his crab traps
What a really awesome spieces to see in person. Anyways we ended up with 3 black fin tuna, bunch of cero mackerel, yellow tail snapper and a rainbow runner. Once back at the dock they started cleaning fish and there was nurse sharks and tarpon hanging out waiting for scraps.

You are correct Cellfish on the Cuda's. Hard fighters, dangerous teeth, but "No Bueno" on the table.☹️
