Really good bass fishing

Exited Jones Inlet about 9:30 in the morning and got pounded by swells and boat wakes from the 30-40 boats fishing a 1/2 mile outside the inlet. I expected flat seas and took a pounding for a while. Thought about going back and I did head back thinking it might get worse , who knows ? Headed back into the inlet and looked to the west and it seemed pretty calm over that way and I reversed course and sailed to the Pink Hotel area where there was an even bigger fleet about 75 boats, several party boats. Trolled MOJO's for a few bass. Next time I'll try jigging. Seas calmed down and it was nice, but very cold if you weren't dressed heavily. I had 2 flannel shirts on and a fleece jacket on and I was still cold. When you're out there by yourself you get nervous this time of year.
