A Grind

Headed out the morning with Frank Sr, Frank Jr and PJ. We knew going into it the wind was gonna blow. Capt mike piloted his vessel Across the slight chop and got us set up a spot. Along for the trip was capt John aka jigging jerks to help Capt Mike. John was spot on with the D-hooker and keeping the crab flow going, we managed two keepers on this drop. The fish were very finicky today, we made a move and shoveling through the shots we boxed 10 keepers today. The fish were just off their feed today, that’s why it’s called fishing and not catching. Captain Mike did bust off two nice fish on the jig and I myself had a screamer that said not today and busted me off. Was well after one o’clock at this point, and the winds definitely increased time to head back, was not as easy as going out the morning. Was definitely everyone sit down trip coming back. You and the crew did their very best under tough conditions. As you know I made bunch of calls, and it seems most folks really struggled on the eastern LI Sound today. Regardless of the number of fish in the box at the end of the day I'm glad everyone enjoyed themselves.
