Gave it a shot

Headed out out with Frank Sr and PJ. Had high hopes of a banner day tog fishing, that wasn’t the case. Lots of life on all the drops but blackfish wise nothing over 15” and sea bass nothing over 16”. About a half hour in I got drilled by a nice fish, on the hook set not sure how but jammed my thumb, causing a shock like feeling in my hand kiss my nice rod and reel to the sound. Not the way I wanted my morning, however about 45 minutes later PJ said hurry up I got your rod I grabbed the gaff, and there was my beauty back. I guess that was the best catch anyone would want. Heading out with Capt Mike tomorrow will follow up.

If i were that lucky i would have continued fishing. 😊
