After being land locked by the wind & life for far too long headed for Plum Gut this morning. Good conditions, flood tide, early October, a few days after the moon, so where were all the other boats, no private boats & no charters. A few drifts & I started to get the hint why I had the place to myself. After an hour started to get a couple bluefish intent on taking my offerings. Finally a nice bass 3" over the slot. Next drift a 30" slot fish, then the bluefish took over. Two or three other private boats showed up, but the ever present charter boats have the fish somewhere.

Although I caught a few Bass on the flood last week, John, the recent tip I got was the ebb has been better.
We are now off the moon a bit so I will be Sea Bass fishing tomorrow morning. However, on my way back I will make a few passes at the Gut, even though it will be the flood.
Time to gear up for the Tog, which I hear are already biting well in most locations!!!
