Practiced casting at a SE Nassau ocean beach this morning. (I did actually put lures on the line to make it realistic.) Due to erosion my beach was almost unrecognizeable. No weed, no sweep, water clean and one hit in two hours around the high tide. Watched three or more dolphins feeding out at the bar. Just two other guys fishing on the entire stretch. Absolutely gorgeous morning, sandals, shorts and a tee shirt. Water had to be in low 70s.

You see any washed up skimmer clams ? One time I went down to Jones Beach at the end by the Jetty , walked to the surf line and saw hundreds of fresh skimmers laying there. Quickly ran home and returned with my schucking knife and filled a whole 5 gallon bucket with clam meat. That was when a bushel cost $15-$20, now it's over $100 at Hudson Point in Freeport.

not either time. probably picked over by others or the gulls. erosion created veritable cliffs throughout nearly the entire length of my town beach, many four feet high for hundreds of yards.
