Fished opening day with Capt. Rich Tenrerero, now of Pt. Judith. Constant action all day on jigs by those sneaky crab stealers for a full boat limit and a big trigger, then we finished the morning with a few striped bass overs and a lottery slot.

There's nothing like those bait stealers! Please tell Richie I said hello the next time you see him.

You're right Matt. Those Maine anglers are killing all of the fish. I think we need asmfc to eliminate trollingFunny you should mention trolling. I HATE it, and gladly accept a visit from "Pepe LePew" than do it to avoid a skunking. That being said colleagues who have been trolling, which up almost certainly means Tube-N-Worm, are also complaining about too many "overs". I asked one how he did the other day and the comment was, "Nothing for dinner, 25, 26, 27 & 33".
And here's a graphic which elicited a "Can't believe those Maine fishermen throw so many bass back" from a NJ resident, you know the Garden State which never threw back a fish they could keep...
Yes, Mainers who report their effort with the Volunteer Angler Logbook tossed back 75% of the legal stripers caught in 2021. The scary thing is that I caught 15% of the legal size fish on this graphic 😳

I wouldn't call it scary, Roccus. I say it's a testimony to your skill and determination!

I wouldn't call it scary, Roccus. I say it's a testimony to your skill and determination! Thanks for the kind words, but there are some who say, "It's a testimony to a dangerous obsession."
Speaking of that, time for the morning ablutions to prep for this AM's abuse at the fins of my striped nemesis...
