I never got the email, but I did get the message loud and clear Monday AM when I saw this. Needless to say the new spare will only be thrown in the truck bed in the fall when I drop the boat off at the boatyard & in the spring when I pick it up.

Nothing, just been sitting there on the trailer totally exposed to the elements for 8 years. When I brought it to the tire shop the guy said, "That's #2 for today, and he never used his either."

At least H&F uses his, but then again a blowout while trailing is far more spinchter clenching than the spare exploding, especially since I didn't even hear it. It was a, "WTF happened?" moment when I walked by the trailer...

I had a spare for my pickup go bang. I wasn't there for it, but I just looked at it one day and the casing had a radial split from the rim to the tread. It didn't just gradually peel itself open like that.

Similar problem too. It was in the bed exposed to the elements.
