No wind

Last night's trip was a rough one with almost no wind. Bugs were bad. Seems gnats swim in deet. Really need some wind back in thr area I'm fishing or the rips just don't form up well. At times there was a little bit of a breeze and that's when I'd actually get fish. You could see the rips come and go. Fish caught were on swim shads and red fins again with the one fish close to the slot (or in it anyway) being 10 pounds.

An “OFFSHORE” marsh? You seem to have your areas confused.

There's no confusion. On the north shore areas you have western, central, and eastern to choose from. South shore has more "direct" choices and areas that are more exact and spot specific. Not gonna tell anyone how to run a site, but by choice I'm not giving myself away.

I didn't even think of it. Yes I did swing some eels at the slack, but I got there just a few minutes later than I wanted too. No takers on the eels but it won't be the last time I try. ?

Being a summer pattern, I imagine you are fishing closer to or in inlets to capture the cooler water at this point?

And that would be why I don't use the south shore choices. But yeah something like that. There are big fish that summer over even a little further back off the inlets. Getting them to eat however... Conditions have to be right. And your not gonna score one every trip. These fish are in slow motion. I've seen fish to 50 inches cruising. It's a patience game. But there's a chance and its the thrill of the hunt..

You misunderstood my comment. In the context of fishing report areas, OFFSHORE denotes tuna, shark, mahi mahi, marlin, offshore wreck fishing for cod, the Canyon, etc. Since you were fishing a marsh, the more appropriate area is INSHORE, which does nothing to tip your hand.

Your report is going to confuse a lot of Canyon Runners...
