Record price set for a BFT

In an event that tales place every year at the Toyosu Fish Market in Tokyo, Japan, this years ceremonial BFT sale hit 3.2 million for a 535 pound fish. This is a record, but does not represent the market rate for BFT. It is largely ceremonial, and a publicly stunt by Sushi Zanmai's Kiyoshi Kimura to attract customers to the restaurant.

I wonder what they charge for the sushi from that fish.Yes, the customers will most definitely know they are eating the most expensive BFT ever sold at market.
I also wonder how many customers are told it's the sushi from that fish.
Artificial Intelligence has this to say about itβ¦β¦β¦
How They Charge:
- Exclusive Servings: They don't sell the whole tuna; they cut it into sashimi and sushi pieces.
- Premium Pricing: Expect extremely high prices per order (e.g., a few slices of fatty tuna could cost $50-$100+) or as part of an expensive tasting menu (omakase).
- Brand Value: The $3.2M is marketing; the actual profit comes from selling tiny portions at exorbitant prices to loyal, affluent customers who want the "best".

I wonder what they charge for the sushi from that fish. The owner said there would be no price increase.

I agree that it may be difficult to confirm that you are really eating sushi from that fish.
In any event, I will say that tuna sushi in Tokyo beats what you can get here.
