So where are the bunker? Not in Manhasset Bay, which is loaded with peanuts(?) Odd for this time of year. I noticed some big schools of adults mid-sound, in very deep water, and moving fast, but not even snagable. Forget about a cast net. I resorted to buying bunker (thanks Jack's) for the first time in years, and stayed pretty far to the west. It worked. 3 slots Tuesday morning, 4 Thursday, but I did have to move around quite a bit. Nothing in my usual spots.

Usually Manhasset is loaded this time of year, correct?

In my recent observations, I've noted a shift in the arrival of the larger bunker—they seem to be showing up a bit later than in past years. Rest assured, they are on their way. It's not a question of if, but when.
