Had my mind on Porgies & weakfish for a while in the Peconic, & realized it's spring & Plum Gut was calling. First few drifts, fish on the screen but no takers, changed the color of my offering & it was game on for what was left of the tide. Kept one 33" bass for the table & released seven others Most of the fish looked to be in the present slot with a couple shorts. Looking at the wind & tide the next few days & I'll be back.

I will be making my first trip up there this Friday. Perhaps I will see you there.

Well done, John.My plan is to fish Thursday, depending on conditions I may run to the race first then back to the gut. Always possible that Friday could be a do it again day.

Was originally going to be fishing recreationally on Friday until I saw the Sat forecast...ugh! Fortunately, my Sat charter guys are able to shift to Friday so I will still be in the Gut but watching someone else fish! Hope they catch a bunch.
Actually, I may be able to sneak in a couple of hours tomorrow afternoon. Have to run the Orient Star in the morning but should be back to the dock early afternoon and may shoot back out there with my boat to catch one for my table.
Just curious, John. If you had them good locally on Wednesday, why run all the way to the Race?
