Morning bite

After yesterday, and talking to a friend I have not fished with this year , my thought was give it another shot. I’m traveling today so will be dragging the rest of the day but oh well. Met up and first cast met by a feisty bluefish. Hmm. Not bad. Heard splashing and thumps within range of casting. Managed another bluefish and a small bass. Quieted down quickly. My buddy nothing. Daylight arrives, overcast, breeze picks up. Dealt with some very very picky bass. Both of us using small poppers. I managed 2 impressive rises but could not convince the take. He on the other hand had 4 rises on what appeared to be quality fish. Finally his popper said the right words and he got one to commit. After a real spirited fight he landed a super fat 33” fish. And that was it. Until the next bite! Have a good weekend.
