They're here.... Ocean Striped Bass fishing in NJ is open all year, however river/bay fishing opened on 3/1. Raritan Bay is the usual early season Hotspot but yesterday the ocean turned on too. Looks like the Chesapeake fish are ahead of schedule and they're on Bunker. Raritan Bay is an early staging area for Hudson strain stripers, but it appears that their Chesapeake cousins are now here too. Will try next week, but here's from pix from my friends yesterday

Great news on the arrival of the Bass!

My regular pilgrimage to the marina starts Monday with the removal of my shrink wrap and the start of the long process of getting The Captain's Table ready for the new North Fork season.

Seems a bit crazy, but I actually looking forward to the associated aching back and body that greets me every April!😀

Update: the ocean bass migrating north on Wed. were no longer around on Thur.. However the back of Raritan Bay is productive. Bunker are everywhere.

Labor of Love, The Ultimate Love/hate relationship... Whatever term applies it is still an uplifting experience.

If my arthritic fingers are still able to type tomorrow evening I will post a photo or two just to verify I am still standing!!😀

I wish you the very best for your season as well, Overbored!
