Finally got a chance to wet a line on Friday after work. My neighbor picked up some fresh bunker form Cow Harbor, and we hit the Sound with my buddy T-Mac and my daughter.
We gave sea bass a shot around the deeper slopes of 11b but only had little porgies harassing us…so with the sun going down and the tide starting to roll we set up in 50 ft of water and chunked.
Didn’t take long for the reels to sing and Ally was right to a keeper sized bass that came to the boat pretty quick. It soon became Waffle House for us…smothered and covered up in bass as they wolfpacked our chunks. We did the best we could to keep at least one line in the water at all times. We all had a blast reeling and netting and rebaiting and organized chaos as we endured about 30 minutes of stupid fishing…..we ended with 3 keepers..29, 32 and 35 inches and threw back 6 other overs….one absolute slob that we should’ve weighed but taped out over 48 inches.
