Went sea bass fishing at the farms yesterday. A hundred boats out there. Caught a nice bunch of sea bass 20 two whiting and a ling. Only one smooth and one spiny dog fish. Two spiny skates. We stopped at sandy hook reef and had a steady drop and lock on mostly short sea bass. The wind kicked up and we headed home. Good day of catching.

No Conger Eels? Hate bringing those up from the deep. We've been getting many out of season Tog at The Farms now. You always get em there on clams but last week we caught Tog on the jig! I agree about Sandy Hook Reef, the nursery...

No conger eels. No blackfish, though last year my friend caught a big one 8 or 9 lbs on a bucktail with squid.

I trolled for a few minutes from the gas dock in Sewaren to Tottenville in the Arthur Kill this afternoon. Lost a tail on my white umbrella. No other hits.
