Due to other obligations I couldn’t make a day of it, & decided to make a run to the porgie grounds in the Peconic. Wind against tide didn’t hurt the bite as the fish were big & hungry, most returned & 5 kept for the table. A quick stop at Jessups found a couple of short bass willing to take a jig, all bass returned. Most of all wanted a shake down trip for the boat, all systems worked as they should, & it’s always a plus to start the season with fish in the box…….. John

Way to go, John. I was out there this morning as well but doing a training session for a former charter customer who just bought a new boat.
Once again, we were marking lots of Weakfish in the area. While we did not wet a line as he was concentrating on learning his electronics, I did hear that they too have now started biting so I anticipate some fresh Weakfish on my table once the darn east wind lets up.

Best of luck this season and I am sure I will see you out there.
