Hey Lep years ago on the old site you had a post on replacing the stock handle on a Penn 940 for a larger handle I remember it had to be customized any chance that is still available

Hi Bobby, any chance what is still available, the handle or the thread on the old site? Frankly, I have no idea about either one. I haven’t looked at that site since they “terminated” me and I don’t miss it even a little bit.

Its been a while, but I do recall that it was an optional Penn handle that I used. I think it originally fit the 955/965 baitcasters, if my memory serves me correctly. The mod included “Dremeling” open the drive shaft hole to accommodate the larger shaft of the 920/930/940, and modifying the 940 handle nut to accept a BB, which prevented the handle nut from backing off, when a certain handle nut cap was used.

You might be able to pull up my old thread over there to review the procedure and part numbers. But I won’t, because . . . Eff ‘em. ?

All good, Bobby. If you ever decide to go forward with this mode, I can help walk you thru it. Best, Lep
