But you go when you can. Still minding our friends "needy" dog, which I left with SWMBO for a couple of hours.
Threw the bag but nothing doing. Light NE breeze, no weed, no sweep on this open town beach, small waves and no fish. Going to give it a rest until Monday or Wednesday when the tide during the afternoon will be more to my liking. These old bones and connective tissues don't like early mornings much (hunting is from a ground blind, much easier on me than
walking the beach) so I stick to afternoons for the most part surfcasting. I still caught something today, a poor gull on a Kastmaster.
I thought he was "done for " (remember that saying?) but after holding him by the beak and unwrapping the 30lb leader from his wings and a hook in a foot,
and after gently standing on a wing mind you, he took off like nothing had happened, thank God.

Have always been clutzy, not much for heights, and now occasional vertigo. But just like "boat fish don't count", neither do deer taken on a corn planted field from a tree stand.
