minding our friend's dog still and between that and the weather I hadn't tried the surf since a skunkarooo on the 19th or so. SWMBO stayed home with the "house guest" this afternoon and I hit my town ocean beach where for the first time the five other fisherman outnumbered the walkers. Got beginning of the incoming, some sea lettuce to remove on every other cast, but the NW wind and little sweep made me look like I knew what I was doing. Mind you I had never caught a keeper (just !) striper from the surf with a plug until today. The plug was a gift from the gods, as I found it on my skunk day. Water still in low 60s. Beautiful sunny afternoon. Dinner tomorrow since, with a total lack of confidence, we had bought a rotisserie chicken earlier, lol.
and, unfortunately, "Copper" outweighs my catch. we love dogs but enjoy our freedom too much, cruises, etc., feel it would not be fair to a pet, and we get this "rent-a-dog" once or twice a year as our friend is having some medical issues. He is really loveable. (SWMBO's friend is OK too. lol.)
