Decided to fish the ocean beach in Gateway Recreational Park in Great Kills Staten Island. I fished the last 3 hours of the incoming tide and the wind was negligible. It took about an hour to figure out what the fatties wanted ( 1/2 ounce ball jig head tipped with 4" gulp swimming mullet in any color along with a continually jigging motion and a excruciating slow retrieve ) The fluke couldn't just could not resist this. Ended up catching a dozen fish including 2 Keepers. Best day of the season and on top of this I ws the only one there. Motivates me to get back there asap. Tight lines to all
