Bluefish

Fished Saturday morning with my BIL after hearing his report from the night before. They had a great bass bite with fish just below slot and then into the slot. Started at first light and everything was quiet. Started fluke fishing and right away had a keeper. Throughout the day had a bunch of shorts, but nothing for the ice. Went outside and found bunker really close but nothing on them. Ocean was very lumpy so we went back in. By this time, the tide was moving swiftly in and instead of bass we found all the bluefish you wanted. No visual signs, but they were there. Most around 5 pounds, one tipped the scale at 9. Caught on bucktails cast into a rip and left to slide along the bottom. Jig the bucktail nothing, let it slide with the tide and they were on it. Back at the dock by 1230. My BIL was back at it later that evening for a few bass, one measuring 33 inches.

Sounds like a great day! Word is fluke fishing is beginning to heat up. Better late than never. Thanks for posting!
