But I'll eat my hat if this rod isn't super tip-heavy. Gonna take a seriously large reel to balance it out. Still, what went into this build is pretty awesome. Gaudy as hell, but awesome.

After years of walking in and quickly out of automotive body shops, I personally wouldn't get anywhere near sprayed Urethane, even with a properly-rated respirator. Also, that vapor collection/evacuation system he uses looks real fugazy, to me.

It belongs on a wall, that's ridiculous, that blank went from a couple of oz's to 5 lbs lol.

Very nicely done - but I'd be afraid to use it and scuff it up.
I wonder how much that goes for in $USD.

George - haven't you noticed that I've "transitioned?" ๐Ÿ˜ณ

LOL! I mean from fancy uber-$ custom rods to all factory sticks? This season though, I'll be bringing out some of my Capt. Neil creations - no sense in them forlornly sitting in the basement. They want to play with the rest of the cool kids!

This may sound whacked but it sure would make a neat Mackerel rod. No more spending hours cleaning scales. ๐Ÿ˜Š

When my Sabiki rod gets too "scaly" I bring it into the shower with me. Then I get yelled at for all the fish scales in the shower, LOL...

I actually bring mine in the shower after a few uses. My wife thinks I'm nuts.

You might have"transitioned" but the set ups you were using last season had plenty of bling. ?

Yeah, the reels. The rods? Not so much. Weโ€™ll switch that up a bit this season.

I can't wait! Sadly fluke are leaving the sound and it's tough to get a few shorts let alone keepers. I spent 4 hours yesterday for 6 shorts and a keeper of 20-inches. No robbins and very few misses. I think I used the same bait all day.
