Peconic Run

My son’s music schedule is getting full so we “called in sick”on Wednesday and made the run from shinnecock to peconic. My 83 yr old dad joined us too!!
Made a stop or 2 along the way to the porgy grounds looking for weak fish but no luck. Hit the porgy grounds for non stop action until we had more than enough. No monsters but lots of quality nice sized fish. Grandfather and grandson did most of the catching while i was busy keeping them going LOL
After that we tried a few spots looking for fluke and weaks but no luck. My son did manage 1 super nice sea bass at just under 20” and big and fat that was released and swam away after a quick picture. Good karma will be rewarded when the season opens. On way back to Shinnecock Canal we found acres of blues that we played with on top water til our arms were tired
A super awesome memorable day with my 2 favorite fishing buddies

You're a lucky man! That pic of the seabass is great! I think it would have been better if he were wearing a Yankee cap though 🙂

Excellent results, Mitch. Sea Bass that siz3e are always a beautiful sight. Dan must have felt good releasing that regal fish!
