Yesterday, Wednesday, first paddle of the season in my local back bay. Not a hit on Gulp, pink or white, on a similarly colored 5/8oz buck, but it was the last two hours of the incoming. Wind picked up (as usual, even though it was out of the NW) around 10-1030 and decided I was better off hitting my pool than waiting for the incoming. Only saw half a dozen boats total at the ramp and in the bay. I did see two silvery fish jump but was not sure if they were cocktails or adult bunker.

Was that your retirement day? Mine was July 6,2016 and I always say you never forget your own personal "Independence Day"!!πŸ™‚

Had I not gotten hurt working for Metro North RR, I could have retired in 2008, I would have had 37 yrs in, the RR bought out people with 37 yrs or more in 2008, missed out on that one too, but I'm retired now, getting use to having all this time on my hands, putting it to good use though.

Actual retirement day was July 1, 2011 but last workday June 29. Actual retirement day from Army Reserve was July 1, 2001. With all the time, paid and unpaid, I spent at 'playing army,' that felt like retirement !

However you get there, as long as you are still able to fish, it's a great feeling.
Then you learn what everyone who is already retired knows, you are just as busy as you were while working full time.
Personally I have 4 P/T jobs. 2 on the water and 2 as a Consultant for my former employers. The nice part about it is I can say no anytime I don't feel like working!
