I may have to give up my "Golden Pocket Protector" because of this, but I cannot figure out how to use the </> drop down to embed videos.

Here's an "Embed Code" I copied: <iframe width="640" height="360" style="border:1px solid #e6e6e6" src="https://www.newscentermaine.com/embeds/video/97-1d553ecc-a783-486e-a8bb-d9217d350afd/iframe" allowfullscreen="true" webkitallowfullscreen="true" mozallowfullscreen="true"></iframe>

How do I ascertain what "Language" I need to select from the </> drop down???? Everything I select just posts some inoperative text.

For example, assuming the code above is HTML, here's what shows up, and it isn't the video...

<iframe width="640" height="360" style="border:1px solid #e6e6e6" src="https://www.newscentermaine.com/embeds/video/97-1d553ecc-a783-486e-a8bb-d9217d350afd/iframe" allowfullscreen="true" webkitallowfullscreen="true" mozallowfullscreen="true"></iframe>

OK, now I'm playing "Musical Languages"...

<iframe>
width="640"
height="360"
style="border:1px solid #e6e6e6"
src="https://www.newscentermaine.com/embeds/video/97-1d553ecc-a783-486e-a8bb-d9217d350afd/iframe"
allowfullscreen="true"
webkitallowfullscreen="true"
mozallowfullscreen="true"
</iframe>

  • So just for my personal edification and education, exactly how does one embed a video that starts with let's say <html>?

  • Not for nothing, but it's tough to find a non-iframe embeded video these days, any chance we'll fix that?

Here's what I got back from our team on that:

In that case you can't embed that video, since it's not one of the approved sources. This is to prevent bad actors from embedding code that could be unsafe. Ordinarily, when embedding video, you'd only embed from sources like YouTube and Vimeo, which have specific handlers for that source (where you just use the Insert Media tool and pop in the URL to the video).

Forgive my ignorance but to translate the above, does that mean that vids saved to our personal hard drives will not be shareable? Would it have to be uploaded to an "approved" vid site like YouTube or the such in order to post it?

Personal videos are handled the same as a photo. It gets uploaded to our server. We don't need YouTube.
