To avail myself of the "generous, NOT" 2 week spring Cod GOM season April 1 - 14, this year, I'm trying to get my boat in early this year, by month end. Took a walk yesterday and while looking up river I decided to remove the snow pile sitting in front of my boat so I can get her out to the yard on Monday for a fresh coat of bottom paint.

Now I have to get my dock guy to change the view in this photo and start putting floats in on the docks...

I will start next week on prep. First the trailer. I have to take the boat off the trailer (PITA), fix it and then work on the boat.

I wipe down the boat as it was put away clean. Then a cleaner wax like Meguir’s Flagship Premium Marine wax or Zaino “All in One”. Then a second coat with Collinite–No. 885 Heavy Duty Paste Fleetwax. Then a sealer.

I may try Griots 3-in-1 Ceramic. It works great on the car. It is wipe one and wipe off and seems to last 2 to 3 months on the car.

I just got flashbacks to when I used a carjack to lift a boat off the trailer to paint the bottom. PITA is right lol.

Collinite is great! When I used to do boat detailing that was my go to.

I was thinking of redoing the non skid on my gunnel but I'm gonna save that work for the summer @ the dock.

NOT a fan of West Marine. As I say year after year, Lighthouse Marine Supply in Aquebogue on Edgar Ave just north of the tracks blows their prices away. Not sure how a small local independent can do that to a national retailer.... Even if the prices were even or slightly higher I'd still support the small local shop with better personal service👍
However, the one thing I do get at West is bottom paint and they had a mini preseason 5 day sale for $50 off a gallon.
Went yesterday and picked up a gallon. While there I also bought a self inflatable life jacket for my wife that was also at a good sale price

If all goes in my favor, i'll be prepping and painting the bottom on Saturday!
