This past summer I lost rigs near the Meadowbrook Bridge. Right near that Big Red buoy on the NW side of the bridge. Feels like an underwater cable. Never had snags there before. Is it a new cable ?

Any signs up for submerged cables over there? Or do not anchor signs?

I don't remember seeing any signs. For years I drifted there for Fluke and rarely ever got snags and last summer I lost several rigs. Trying to pull the rig free i could feel the line scraping against some cable . Either it's a new cable or the sand washed off the old one. Whatever I'm snagging feels like it's off the bottom, the way the line peels off and is scrapping side to side as I drift away.

All bridges have it. The crossbay bridge and rockaway toll bridge goes unnoticed.
Ask the coastguard or the constable.

There is a cable there but no signage. Lost an anchor there trying to fish the rip that forms about 50 yds. east of the Big M on the incoming tide.
