Fuel tank installation help?!

I've done this job on my own boat myself. Actually, years ago I pulled my aluminum tanks and fiberglass-encased them - as a preventative measure. My boat has a pair of screw-down deck plates over the tanks, so no deck cutting was required. If you boat doesn't have such hatches and the tanks are below deck, then your tank replacement will require deck surgery and a competent fiberglass repairman to make it look right.

Im located in Oceanside. Ive done a tank removal and replacement years ago on a Grady White and I vowed never to do it again! lol My tank is below deck, but the CC and leaning post has to be removed an then the floor above the 110gal tank. Its a nightmare and getting someone to do it is just as bad! lol

Expensive, but really excellent work - you can speak directly with Al Grover, Jr. Also you can try Mako Marine/Freeport, Atlantic Yacht Haven (Chris Squeri is the owner and VERY well-known in the marine trades), and how about All Island Marine, right in your neighborhood?

He’s a frequent contributor on The Hull Truth boat website (not as good as nyangler.com, but few are), and I’m almost positive I’ve read threads on tank replacements where he’s commented about the time and effort involved when his shop does them.

If Raybo will do that job - then every other choice is second-string, as far as I'm concerned. I would still price the job around, but Raybo would get the nod, even if more moneta.

Ive contacted Raybo and im waiting for a window whn he has time to do the project. Im worried that the boat wont be ready by spring thats why id like other options thanks for your replies!

Raybo gave me many great advice in the THT forums. Always very freindly and knowledgeable.

If I was near there, I would love to have him redo my gas tank which is 20 years old.

I wound up going with Chris Squeri of Atlantic Yacht Haven in Freeport. Nice and close to home! He has the boat now for about a week. I will update you guys when the project is finished! Thanks for asking!
