The Woodcleft Fishing Station is no more. It closed for the last time sometime last week. The fuel pumps are gone. The walk in freezer gone. The scale that has weighed many a trophy fish is gone. The building is empty. All fenced in and due to be demolished soon.

I don't understand this. They tore down the Schooner Restaurant after Sandy destroyed it. Rumors circulated as to what and when something would take its place. There was occasional activity but nothing really got started. The rebuilding of the bulkhead started and then stopped after a couple piles were driven. Originally, the planned "convention center" would keep Richie's there as they needed a place to fuel all the yachts that would be attracted.

Now, the best thing about keeping a boat on Woodcleft is gone. Let's see how long that land sits vacant now.

I remember when Lou Stauker owned the place. He'd pull up in his Gold Cadillac with Florida License plates. I hope the new Hudson Point sells fuel and bait.

Sad news, I always boarded the Codfather right there.
