Hadn't been out for a while. Checked things out Tuesday. Put a few miles on the new Suzuki and didn't find much. A couple of blues, big scup but nothing great. Went out today and again put quite a few miles on looking. I did make a couple drifts next to the Middle ground light watching 12 - 14" bass on top. Tried a bunch of drops and fought off undersized sea bass and scup. Worked my way back to Smithtown bay. Checked out some individual rocks in 70' of water that I had drifted in the past. Pulled up on one with some nice readings. Hit the anchor button on the Ulterra. Lock and load for 20 minutes on 3 - 4 lb sea bass, jumbo scup and a couple 16" plus blackfish. I don't ever want to drop an anchor again.
