Ran a trip with old school roommates/friends today.
Planned on running S of VZ searching for bones & albies.
NWS called for 1-2' seas and wind 10-15mph but it was more like 3-4'+ in the AM.
Searched SI Shore for life....NG so we turned back.

Drifted eels inside but since it was Slack current, we only got doggies & bite offs from blues.

After Noon we ran outside S & W of VZ.
It was still sloppy but we continued.
We finally found some birds and jigged/released 30-40 2-4lb blues.
The blues saved the day.

I put the Area in as NY Bight.
Don't know why it shows Eastern Sound.

This time of year I actually target blues to fill the smoker!
Blues thru the smoker are awesome...
Personally, I would love to have a day like you had and as crazy as it might sound, I'm kinda jealous LOL😛😎

I wasn't complaining about catching the small blues. Just disappointed again with NOAA.
The Blues were great and, as I said, they saved the day.
My buddy smokes them too. They're great.
Check out the price of "Wild Caught Smoked Bluefish" online. Last time I checked it was $25.00/lb !!!
