Today started with a beautiful sunrise over Chez Roccus, and I caught 2 stripers, 22 & 23", while admiring it.

Since the ocean was flat I decided to check out the cod grounds in anticipation of our "generous" season, Sept 15-30 for 1, 24" fish. I caught over a dozen cod, but almost all them were less than 10". Had one 14" fish and one that would be legal next month, a 24" fish.

Took me a while to figure out where the cod were hanging and of course, it was the last place I stopped at. Also saw another minke whale at that spot so I guess they are a good sign. The cod spot had a ton of herring on it, along with mackerel and pollock. I picked up 2 "sang-weech" sized pols, so it's "Boston Bluefish Sandwiches" for dinner tonight.

Would be a keeper a month from now...

Not exactly, it was more like, "OK, this drift is getting old, 5 min more and I'm out of here!" And that 5 min extended out to 15..

Time is of no consequence when you believe the fish are going to bite! Well done.
