Not what I expected...

Just got home from a full tide 6 pack out of Montauk. Really been looking forward to this trip after listening for weeks and weeks how awesome the Bass fishing has been. I did hear that those 'big' fish that were hanging around pushed east to Block Island but thats OK a bunch of slot fish would be fine with me. Trouble was it ended up being a total stinker. Well, perhaps I shouldn't be so critical, we did catch 3 fish the whole night but certainly not what I expected. Why do they call it fishing and not catching? Oh yea, I remember.

Thems the breaks for sure. One thing about stripers, the second you think you've got 'em figured out, they show you just who's the boss...

I find that hard to believe. You were either drifting (eels) or anchored upDrifting eels and live lining porgies, beautiful night but fish were uncooperative to say the least.
and had a chunk line going. A flat of bunker and mackerel or a bucket of clams.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
