Some nice fishing this morning. Day started auspiciously, stopped boat at harbor entrance rip, tossed a Fin-S into the rip and it was immediately inhaled by a nice 25" fish. Took a ride over to the next river and found this blitz going on.

Final tally 12 fish, 9 over 22" including 3 @ 26"...

Absolutely. I might actually toss rig the fly rod up for tomorrow.

Want to see something hilarious? Watch me try to fly cast!! But today with fish breaking all around the boat, I might have been able to actually cast far enough, LOL...

No, it's the typical summer feeding in these parts. Being an anglophile, I get great pleasure both at home and on the water saying "I love the Brits!"

"Brits" on the water here are 2 - 3" herring yearlings and these feeding frenzies usually last through July. One day I just stood on my boat looking over the side watching the bass swim through the hordes of Brits sucking them up. It was pretty amazing to watch.

Come August when the Brits are scarce, lesser anglers start complaining that the bass have left. That's far from true, but this "Stupid Fishing" does become a thing of the past. Time for the serious fisherman to hitch up his big boy pants and reach into his knowledge base to figure out the best course of action.
