Decided to run out at dawn today, made it to the jetty by 5:15. Lots of life out there, was greeted by a pod of dolphins which managed to scare a lot of the fish away. Ended up with a couple nice scup and some 3-5 lbs bluefish kept things interesting. Headed inshore towards the Coney Island Flats, first drop I hook and land a nice 23" fluke, my biggest of the year. Pretty happy about that but the rest of the trip was uneventful with a slow fluke bite overall. Hopefully things change as the summer pattern settles in. Looking forward to some southern visitors finding my line soon.

Typical, whenever I catch a good fish on my first drop in a new spot, it's the sign of death. But it sounds like you had a great day and thanks for posting!
