Fussing with pool opening and bonding plexiglass for display case for latest ship model of late and finally got out. Way too windy, NNW 15+ . Wore two tank tops, unlined windbreaker, sealskinz socks for the cold. Only hit in 3 hours during outgoing but was good to just verify I still remembered how to paddle. Very few boats out this morning but the ones I saw were obviously experienced and courteous. that will unfortunately change soon. Judging from the boat movements and "searching" in my backbay area, not much going on. Little 16" took a wh. Gulp on a pink jig. Enough sea lettuce to be annoying, no slip gut.

Won't try it again. Even with supposedly sheltering land just 100 yards to the NW it was incredible. Too windy for waves, seemed to blow boat wakes flat. Decided no wind sock as I was thinking it might lead to a capsize. A bit nippy too. I brought the Tsunami 6' Slimwave with the Daiwa BG2000 and alternated with what was my lightest spinning rig. No comparison ! I think I could weigh the Slimwave with the scale I use for arrowheads ! Will stick with my pool for a day or two. (Its heated, lol.)

NOAA says 5-10 knts both sides of the island just about every day this week. Might want to rethink spending too much time on the pool! Lol

That would be nice. But they so often are WAY off with the wind.

Download ZyGRIB for wind reports, updated multiple times a day so you get more recent data than NOAA which uses GRIB files for their forecasts, but don't update them as frequently as you'd like...

I use an app on my phone and pc called β€œWindy” that is better than the weather channel etc but will try this one. Thanks

I’m in the pool. (Heater, lol). May put off kayak fishing until after Wednesday rain to get my preferred morning tide anyway
