Launched out of East Patchogue this morning after the drizzle. Made my way to the narrows east of smiths point bridge. Tried to throw some chum down for blowfish since i seen some reports but a decent amount of boat traffic and no dice. Decided to fluke a bit and got one nice 21 inch on a bucktail with some nuclear chicken gulp grub. Slow otherwise and the fluke was on the skinny side.

If you were able to fish with gulp without the blowfish instantly destroying it then I'd assume they've moved out of the narrows. Doesn't really make sense to me but I got out twice last week and my gulp didn't last 2 minutes. Only caught 1 short fluke but brought home 25 more blowfish.

The original plan was to target the blowfish exclusively. I set up first west of the bridge before the turn in about 15ft of water chumming the flats toward the old inlet... no luck. moved to the narrows around 2 miles east of the bridge and tried again... but nada. I think there was too much boat traffic and the stiff east wind didnt help.
