Did you snag or net bunker on the spot? Been back there no fewer than 6 times since season opening and only saw bunker the first time... April 17th. Trying to catch a keeper or anything bigger than the 3 rat bass over managed on lures. What gives?

Btw, any fluke reports??? With the in-store protein prices being what they are... CATCHING something I can eat would be a boon!

There are plenty of bunker and bass back there. You can do either I like to snag with treble hook

Do you know if there is anyplace left to rent a skiff in JBay?

Went out yesterday. Found the fleet.... no joy. Spent entire day on the water 6 am to 430p. At around 10 am I pulled the plug on striper fishing and hit the fluke spots. 5 shorts to around17 inches. Felt good to feel a tug on the rod. 😉

No stripers ? Did you read them at least ? Where did you fluke ?

No. Still working on my fishfinder setup. I have a small zodiac style boat. So getting it mounted to be portable AND effective has been difficult great up to trolling speed... disaster for anything beyond. I did watch the bait guys and they were having pretty poor results for all the tossing they were doing.

I fluked MPB, Rockaway Wall and poked my head around the CI flats. MPB was where I got all but one.

Oh ok. I went to Raritan bay this morning. Shit load of boats. Everyone trolling. I read some fish but not enough. I saw three bass come up. I trolled for a little while with no luck. I enjoy jigging and baiting a lot more

Did raritan 2 or 3 weeks back. You could have hopped from Boat to boat and got half way across the bight. No lie. I kept expecting to hear squealing tire sounds and crashing boat sounds. Chaotic troll conditions. They can keep the three fish. Lol. Will just keep at it locally. Maybe the fluking will break and I'll give up my striper chasing ways. Lol

Don’t give up on the stripers. You can get them with bunker chunks in the early am. You can set up by the inlet where the old draw bridge used to be. Always bunker there
